You Will Be Less Depressed Without TikTok


This performance piece was a commentary on social media induced numbness and detachment.

As the performance progresses, I project my distress onto the punching bag which eventually starts to bleed. [Manually inserted boiled Beet juice inside]

A projection of a man expressing his views of society assists the narrative. 


In many ways, social media has removed the barriers between the user and the audience—with far-reaching implications.

But TikTok increases superficiality, warps our sense of presence, and increases parasocial connection with our algorithm.

While learning something new is nice, what does you brain actually do with that information? Apps feed on human’s innate nature prone to laziness. 

Laziness is no bad feat. 
But when I see it affecting the motivation of the people I care for as well as the impacts on developing minds of children, teenagers, and young adults.
