Encyclopedia on Bilingual Personalities.
This will be a photography & research based book. It will be a comprehensive overview of bilingualism, to broaden perspectives for monolingual readers, to encourage future parents to preserve and pass on their native languages, reflect on cultural retention, assimilation, and linguistic barriers. There will be a document-style survey where your direct participation will come in! A collection of document-style surveys from bilingual individuals, with separate forms for first-generation children and first-generation immigrants.
I am drawn to personalities. Understanding how differently or similarly we experience life. I want to credit my parents for this project: a decade of Saturdays spent in Japanese school that continues to inform how I think, communicate, and narrate my inner life. Although this is mainly directed at US dwellers, feel free to replace US/English with the dominant language spoken in your country. I would love to collect responses from all over the globe. Language is amazing and complicated. Tell me about yours with my 2pg questionnaire!

2. The form is 9x12 inches. If you are printing on 8.5x11 inches, please make sure to ‘fit to scale’.
3. I look forward to handwritten submissions! Digital answers are also welcome.
